Shimanek Covered bridge is red with white trim and spans Thomas Creek in Linn County in Oregon It has louvered windows and is Howe Truss design with a white painted interior A rustic white painted fence leads too the bridge entrance The first bridge built at this location was put in place about 1861 In 1904 it was rebuilt and subsequently washed out in 1921 A replacement lasted until 1927 when it was replaced by a fourth bridge only to have that bridge damaged in the Columbus Day storm of 1962 The firth and current bridge has been in place since 1966
