UK, Kew Palm house, glasshouse & frozen pond and Hercules Statue after a snow fall in Winter
The Palm house at Kew was designed by Decimus Burton and the engineer was Richard Turner. It is a Victorian iron and glass structure and was built between 1844 and 1848. It is situated on the west side of a pond that contains the Hercules statue and fountain. The Hercules statue (placed in 1853) is a naked figure wresting with a snake and the sculptor was Frenchman, Francis Joseph Bosio.
