160929-N-PD309-099 NAVAL BASE GUAM (Sept. 29, 2016) Sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) receive an inert SM-2 missile casing from USS Emory S. Land (AS 39), a submarine tender and the lead ship of the class, during a proof-of-concept exercise. Benfold is on patrol with Carrier Strike Group 5 in the Philippine Sea supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
