Sydney Olympic Park, satellite image. This was the home of the 22nd Modern Olympic Games between 15 September and 1 October 2000. The park is located in Homebush, 14 kilometres west of Sydney. The main stadium (with partially covered roof) is at lower centre. Above it is the Sydney superdome, which hosted gymnastics and basketball. Below the main stadium is the Athletics centre and then the athletics warm-up area. To the right of these is the aquatic centre. At top centre is the Newington Nature Reserve, which comprises wetland and woodland areas. Taken by the Ikonos satellite on 2 July 2000.
