Thereupon the Lieutenant- Governor of Bengal, accompanied by his Staff, proceeded down the river in his yacht Rhotas to meet the Prince [of Wales] and escort him up to Calcutta. The vessels met at Diamond Harbour, a spot about thirty miles below Calcutta, where they anchored
