The height from thefloor is shown, or rather it should be determined by the spacefrom the bottom of the side bed rail to the floor; 4 or 5 in. wheelssawed or turned from i in. stock are hung on projected axlestumps turned nicely to fit with a square left or inner end whichis tightly mortised to the sides of the chest as shown. The width andlength for this form of chest may be greater if desired than thatshown, thus permitting of the placing away of pressed trousersto the full length, also coat and vest laid out, few creases beingrequired. Now the modern wardrobe is suggested. This should appealparticularly to the masculine mind, for it proves to be a mutevalet looking after the masters clothes with unconscious care,for in its appointments it provides for and gives quick access toeverything a man wears in the nature of outer garments, withtills for washable apparel.
