In short, single-line working was put into force, section by section,over the whole of the companys main hne to Liver-pool, so that this very bulky consignment mightbe got through safely without any risk of damageto itself or danger to the other traffic of the exceptional work as this entails a large amountof extra labour and anxiety upo
