Jesus (Anton Lang) appears before king Herod (Gregor Breitsamter) - also on stage are Sebastian Lang as the high priest Annas (or Ananias), and Hugo Rutz as high priest Joseph ben Caiaphas: players in the Oberammergau Passion Play. The play is performed every 10 years, on open-air stages, by the inhabitants of the village of Oberammergau in Bavaria, Germany.
