The SA National Parks conducts regular testing for the presence of the human strain of Tubercolosis in elephants in the Kruger National Park


Veterinary staff from the South African National Parks help to attend to an elephant bull that was darted and sedated to allow scientists to extract DNA tissue and samples near Skukuza on 29 June 2022. This is part of an ongoing project to test elephants for the presence of the human strain of TB in the park.
