Every seven years, in the month of August Guard Sanframondi held the traditional ancient rites of penance in honor of the Assumption. And 'one of the few religious events with a blood ritual survived in Europe. The penitents beat their chests with a cork filled circular needles, up all'abndante leakage of blood with which expiate their sins by asking Grace to the Virgin Mary.
