Memorial board for Horst Frank Berlin Wall victim who died while trying to escape to West Berlin, Klemkestrasse,Niederschönhausen,Pankow,Berlin. Horst Frank was shot by border guards on 29 April 1962 as he tried to escape from East to West Germany with a friend. The friend managed to reach West Berlin but Frank died in the Volkspolizei hospital. Three other refugees were discovered by border guards on the border strip near Klemkestrasse. 18-year-old Wernhard Mispelhorn was shot when he tried to flee the Schönholz allotment and died in an East Berlin Hospital, On the 15 March 1973 Horst Einsiedel set off an alarm at the Pankow cemetery and was shot. Silvio Proksch bled to death in 1983 on the first day of Christmas.
