It seems to feed, on the richest metals of the soil, and to spread their lustrous tints over its leaves, which thus be- come an illuminated map of the mineral kingdom. The leaf is very large —will average a foot or more in diameter—and is separated into 7 or 9 large points, carried on thick, heavy stems, 18 inches or more in height; color a rich green, with reddish markings; surface vel vety. In bloom it is magnificent; the panicle, com- posed of great numbers of individual pink blooms, is lifted high and spray-like, quite clear of the foli- age. One of the best for Winter bloom, besides be- ing ornamental in foliage. Price, 25 cents each. Speculate—Quite a novelty in the Rex type. Leaves are in the form of a grape leaf. Color is a bright green, with a back ground of chocolate; veins of a light pea-green, the whole leaf spotted w
