Tiiis family is allied to one of the notablyoldest families of the county, the Venables of Utkinton, a race spokenof as a race of warriors. It would be from these men probablythat the Dones got their inherited powers and dominion to rule ; andwere there no other fact, the Arms of Done as given by Ormerod, aresufficient proof as to the conuectiou between the immediate and su-.
