Pfc. Chesty XIV, official mascot of the Marine Corps in-training, sits in position bearing his eagle, globe and anchor emblems and commandant of the Marine Corps coin at the conclusion of a ceremony at the Marine Barracks in Washington, DC. The ceremony marked the conclusion of Chesty XIV's recruit training and basic indoctrination into the Corps. In the upcoming months, the young Marine will serve in a mascot-apprentice roll for the remainder of the summer working alongside his predecessor and mentor Sgt. Chesty XIII until the sergeant's retirement which is expected in late August.
