Mocha moth


Mocha (Cyclophora annularia) moth, a member of the family Geometridae. The name is derived from a resemblance to the Mocha stone. The flight period is usually May and June then again from July to August. This species occurs in woodland habitats and is found across Europe. The larvae feed on field maple. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in June.
