RESERVOIR. 371. PNEUMATIC LIFT. Ridgwaytype, oil governed. A tube extends from areservoir down the inside of the hollow pistonrod. The reservoir is filled with oil. Whenthe hook is lowered, the oil is drawn into thepiston rod through the check valve. Thechain wheel and needle valve govern the flowof oil, which by its non-compressibility pre-vents vibration of the load and holds it atany desired height.
