Stage light switches inside De Salis Hall Within the closed Harperbury Hospital complex.

Built in the early 1930s The De Salis Recreational Hall was named after Sir Cecil De Salis, Chairman of the Council's Mental Deficiency Committee. The building could seat 700 people and was equipped with a stage and a cinema projector. It was part of the Harperbury Hospital complex which has now closed. Launched on October 25, 1928 and known then as Hangers Certified Institution due to its three remaining aircraft hangers. The complex grew over the decades but like most asylums and mental health hospitals were scaled back to eventual closer. Harperbury was classified as officially closed in 2001. Since then most of the buildings have fallen into serious disrepair or have been demolished to make way for new buildings. De Salis Hall still remains however its fate is uncertain.
