Some of them are found from the Atlantic to the Pacific, such as the nine-spotted lady-bird, Fig. 123; the plain lady-bird, Fig. 125; the convergent lady-bird, li'ig. 128; the spotted lady-bird, Fig. 129; and the twice-stabbed lady-bird, Fig. 33. Those which follow are restricted to the Pacific coast, or are more abundant there.
