The battle of Inkerman was a battle of the Crimean war that was fought on November 5, 1854 and that ended with the victory of the British and French armies under General Bosquet against the Russian army under the command of General Ménshikov. The Crimean War was a conflict that between 1853 and 1856 fought the Russian Empire against a league formed by the Ottoman Empire, France, the United Kingdom and the kingdom of Sardinia. It was played primarily in the Crimea, around the naval base of Sevastopol. It resulted in the defeat of Russia, which was embodied in the Treaty of Paris in 1856.
