TERMEZ, Uzbekistan (July 29, 2011) - Brig. Gen. Dirk Backen, Acting Leader of the German Contingent at International Security Assistance Force Regional Command North Headquarters , welcomes back RC North Commander Maj. Gen. Markus Kneip en route to Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, where he is set to resume his duties. Kneip recently completed his recovery from injuries he sustained in a bomb blast at the governor’s palace in Taloqon, Takhar Province on May 28.
