THERE has been issued from the British publicationdepartment of the Salvation Army an intensely in-teresting report of what has been accomplished in the firstyear of the Darkest-England Social Scheme. It is abright and hopeful book, which tells in about IGO pageshow the £100,000 given a year ago for the initiation ofthe proposals then made by General Booth has been ex-pended, and with what prospects of future expansion andsuccess. It is a remarkable story, and one that will sat-isfy all inquiring minds except those so hopelessly preju-diced that nothing could make them admit that anythinggood could come from a project that they condemned ayear ago without understanding it.
