Almond shell MDF. Close-up of MDF (medium-density fibreboard, bottom) made from the shells of almonds (Prunus amygdalus, top). The board is created by mixing crushed almond shells with natural and synthetic resins and baked under pressure. The resulting material is biodegradable, recyclable, light weight, water repellent and fire resistant. It can be used for internal and external building decoration and furniture. It is made by Duralmond in Spain.
