Itsmost representative men are engaged in business or pro-fessional pursuits in the city and their homes are fromwithin one to fifteen minutes walk from the station, anindication of the compactness of the borough. A wordabout those homes, or rather the word that spells our firstand our last impression of them. Cosy is the are homes that are really homelike—nothing ornateor ultra-pretentious about the houses. Topographically it is in lineto get the finest quality of this vital suburban staple—themountains at its back—a shelter from boisterous elements—and the farmlands and meadows at the south and west,with the rural township of Piscataway to suggest delight-ful possibilities of fresh garden truck at low prices—possi-bilities which as realities have grown into the habit classwith exceptions only in the cases where home gardensserve as substitutes.
