AS soon as the soldiers were ousted from their snugquarters at Camp Hooker, and required to takeup with tents again, arrangements were made to trans-port all superfluous baggage to Washington for stor-age. Wagon-loads of trunks filled with clothing, relics,&c., were sent off in consequence, together with thechapel tent and other tents, not actually indispensableduring a campaign. New clothing, shoes, and capswere issued to the companies, with whatever articleswere needed to complete their accoutrements; andevery cartridge-box received a full supply of powderand ball.
