Discussion Our study was motivated by the desire to identify similar tidally influenced habitats at different wetland sites on the basis of elevation, height of inundation, and/or vegetation. We used an inexpensive vial method to characterize sites in terms of height of tidal inundation and examined whether plant distribution and cover were similar for equivalent heights of Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original Southern California Academy of Sciences.
