This is in front of the Knutsford Hotel, famed as oneof the important stopping places in Utah, and doubly historic be-cause it was upon the site of this imposing hotel that the firstattempt at irrigation ever inaugurated by Anglo-Saxons was car-ried out. At this point water was turned upon the land from anirrigating ditch which was the forerunner of that great system ofreclamation which has brought under cultivation thousands uponthousands of acres in the great West. At this point the first glimpse is had of the great WasatchRange, from the rock-ribbed vaults of which so many millions in.
