PORTLAND, Ore. (April 21, 2018) Vice Adm. Richard Brown, Commander, Naval Surface Force, Pacific Fleet, delivers remarks during the commissioning ceremony of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27), April 21. Portland is the Navy's 11th San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship. It is the third ship to bear the name USS Portland, however it is the first ship to be named solely for Oregon's largest city.
