Leprosy


The village of Belfort is one of two lepra colonies ran by a charity in Antalaha. Lepra is not contagious and is called "poor man's" disease. It exist in tropics and attacks weak immune system. It's said that we all have the disease sleeping in our bodies. Progress of lepra can be stopped by medicine and forever cracking of the skin can be treated by a cream. Lepra sufferers in the colony are taught skill to make them independent and self sufficient.
