Cruise ships: Queen Victoria, Queen Mary 2, Marella Explorer and Marella Discovery anchored in Weymouth Bay. Mothballed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic groups of cruise ships are assembled off the coast of dorset, anchored in Weymouth Bay. Early in the crisis it became evident that some of these ships had in effect become incubators for Covid-19. Because of the travel restrictions and lockdowns necessary to fight the spread of the disease these great ships had to be quarantined. Now no-one knows what to do with them. They have been mothballed for months and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Who knows when they will ever sail again?
