Ceredigion's newest community shop starts trading - with queues at the till and smiles at the counter ! Sales started early at Ceredigion's newest community shop and cafe - as next door neighbour Jean Devoy called in before opening time to buy half a dozen eggs for breakfast. And she opened the floodgate to a constant stream of local and passers buy, all eager to check out what the newly refurbished premises at one of the best known roadside sites in the county has to offer. After months of work by scores of volunteers Siop Cynfelyn@cletwr at Tre'rddol, near Aberystwyth opened for business on Friday 3 May - promising to provide a whole range of community services as well as shopping essentials. The long term objective - if Siop Cynfelyn is successful - is to re-open the petrol station as well, with a completely re-vamped modern service station using further Big Lottery money from a further bid that has already gone in.
