Brig. Gen. Francis L. Donovan, commanding general of Naval Amphibious Force, CTF 51/5, cuts a piece of cake during the Marine Corps birthday ball ceremony in Manama, Bahrain. It is customary that two pieces of cake be cut during the ceremony; one for the guest of honor and one for the oldest Marine who passes it on to the youngest Marine, representing the old and experienced Marines passing their knowledge on to the newest generation of Marines.
