This is care-lessly made of dried grass and similar materials, and theeggs, varying in number from eleven to seventeen, aredarker in color than those of the Rock Ptarmigan, andslightly smaller than those of the Willow Grouse. Inhabits it resembles the first species. On account ofthe number of foxes on Attn this bird frequents higherelevations than it is accustomed to do on the otherislands.
