FOLLOWING our policy of being the first to show new and beautifuleffects, we are including this year quite a few patterns which areunusual in character and which will make some very pretty pattern which we have named the Majestic is a double process paper,the background being a fancy engraved cloud effect, closely resemblingthe popular wood veneer. You will notice that the background has nosheen or gloss. This has a tendency to absorb the light and enhances oraccentuates the conventional figure which is used very cleverly in thestripes. This figure is printed in gilt and in green and copper bronze witha maroon center. A paper of this character may be used appropriately inparlors, sitting rooms and libraries. In fact, there
