Surgery Table. Surgery Station A surgery stations set up for implantation of acoustic-telemetry tags in juvenile steelhead. After being weighed and measured anesthetized fish are gently cradled in the blue trough in the middle of the frame and their gills are irrigated with a maintenance dose of anesthetic followed by fresh water while the surgery is performed. Instruments are disinfected between surgeries (plastic dishes with blue solution) and then rinsed prior to use (dish with distilled water).
