Evening view from low hill north side Ovenden Moor to Warley Moor Reservoir and Stoodley Pike Peace Monument, South Pennines, UK

Small hill above the path around the north end of Ovenden Moor, looking south towards the Warley Moor Reservoir and the Stoodley Pike Napoleonic Peace Monument on distant hills above the Calder Valley. Warley Moor Reservoir (also known as Fly Flatts Reservoir) was completed in 1872 on the moors north of Halifax, West Yorkshire. The reservoir has an area of 28 hectares, is 14 metres (45 feet) deep and holds up to 880,000,000 litres (193,000,000 imperial gallons) of water. The reservoir, at an altitude of 410 metres (1345 feet) is the home of Halifax Sailing Club, the highest sailing club in England. Originally built by the Halifax Corporation, the reservoir is now owned by Yorkshire Water. The Stoodley Pike Napoleonic Peace Monument was constructed to commemorate the entry of Paris by the Allies in 1814. Destroyed in a storm on the eve of the Crimean War in 1854, it was rebuilt in its present form at the war's end.
