Square of Spain or Plaza de España and Arenas de Barcelona shopping center old Bullring aerial view Barcelona Catalonia Spain The Las Arenas de Barcelona bullring was inaugurated in 1900 and was the second of 3 bullfighting rings built in Barcelona. Designed by Catalan architect August Font i Carreras, the plaza had a capacity for nearly 15,000 spectators. The project took 8 years to complete and opened it’s doors to the public in 2011. Rogers’ ambitious design maintains the original Neo-Mudéjar façade, now topped by a 27m high dome and circular roof terrace. For most visitors, however, the shopping centre’s most interesting feature is the view from the roof. The Venetian Towers is the popular name for a pair of towers on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina at its junction with Plaça d'Espanya in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. They were originally envisaged in Léon Jaussely's city expansion plan of 1907 and designed by architect Ramon Reventós and built in the period 1927 to 1929, as part of the redevelopment of the area for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition.
