Royal Air Force Coastal Command- No. 247 Group Operations in the Azores, 1943-1945. Group Captain W E Oulton, the Station Commander of Lagens. Previously, while commanding No. 58 Squadron RAF, Oulton was awarded the DSO for sinking three U-boats in May 1943. He remained in charge of Lagens until March 1945.
