Karen DePhillips, widow of 40th Infantry Division soldier Joseph DePhillips, looks at division memorabilia Weds., Dec. 27, 2017, in the division headquarters building at Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos, California. DePhillips served with the 40th ID during the Korean War, but rarely spoke of the war or of his service.
