THIS bell, of Italian design and workmanship early in the sixteenthcentury, was formerly in the Soulages collection. Between the wreaths are profile heads and a shield of shield bears a bend between two tigers heads. The mouth of the bellhas a wide border; richly filled with acanthus leaves. Inside, in relief, is a mark % probably that of the somewhat similar bell and of about the same period is in theMuseum, No. 586 65. Also from the Soulages collection. Bought for 3/.
