Captain J. W. Holmes becamecommander of a vessel when buttwenty-one years of age. He hasmade during ids seafaring career,eighty-three voyages around CapeHorn, and fourteen around the Capeof Good Hope. For a period coveringfourteen years of his life lie has atvarious times commanded prosperouslyconducted whaling voyages. Mystic is an ideal residential town:peaceful, balmy of air, and
