Senior Airman Zachari Dragan, 8th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (EAMS) crew chief, helps remove a C-17 Globemaster III’s pitch trim actuator Dec. 16, 2018, at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This is the first time a maintenance procedure like this has been done in Air Forces Central Command’s area of responsibility. Due to safety concerns, Airmen from the 8th EAMS and 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron combined capabilities to ensure the aircraft could be repaired prior to returning to home station.
