The Paglia Orba (1994), the MS Mega Smeralda (1985) and the Mein Schiff 2 (2019) moored in the port of Ajaccio (Corse-du-Sud) in Corsica, France


The Paglia Orba is a ro-pax ship belonging to the French shipping company Corsica Linea. Built from 1992 to 1994 at the Ateliers et Chantiers du Havre for SNCM, it takes its name from a Corsican mountain, the Paglia Orba. The ship entered service in March 1994 carrying goods and passengers between Marseille and Corsica, first with the SNCM colors and then Corsica Linea from 2016. MS Mega Smeralda is a cruiseferry owned by Medinvest and operated by Corsica Ferries - Sardinia Ferries. She was built in 1985 by Wartsila at the Helsinki New Shipyard in Helsinki, Finland, for Johnson Line as MS Svea for use in Silja Line traffic. Between 1992 and 1994, she sailed for Silja Line as MS Silja Karneval and, between 1994 and 2008, for Color Line as MS Color Festival. The Mein Schiff 2 is a cruise ship owned by the shipping company TUI Cruises. It was christened in Lisbon on February 9, 2019, has a length of about 316 meters and is approved for 2894 passengers. The ship was delivered in January 2019. The previous Mein Schiff 2 was renamed Mein Schiff Herz.
