Time-lapse image of a suntrail. Time-lapse exposure showing the path of the sun as it sets below the horizon and then rises again. The sun does not rise vertically, but at an angle. The observed angle becomes shallower the further an observer is from the Earth's equator. This image is obtained by repeated exposure of the photographic film (or sensor) over a number of hours.
