BALA MURGHAB, Afghanistan- The construction site of an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) bridge project near Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bala Murghab with a member of the Afghan National Police with the assistance of an interpretor, Oct. 2, 2008. The bridge project is being overseen by ISAF and will improve force protection for the FOB and the civilian population by allowing greater freedom of movement. ISAF is assisting the Afghan government in extending and exercising its authority and influence across the country, creating the conditions for stabilization and reconstruction.
