In Thailand, Cannabis, known by the name Ganja was decriminalized on June 9, 2022, with the Thai Food and Drug Administration officially removing the plant from the Category 5 narcotics list. Cannabis cafes and weed dispensaries have since become common, with more than 5,000 stores in the country selling flowers, pre-rolled joints, edibles with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) level below , infused foods and CBD oil.
