Another resolution was as follows:—This general meeting ofthe Canadian Daily Newspapers Association takes this first. opportunity of a general meeting of the Association to expressthe great regret of the members of the Association at the retire-ment from the position of General Manager of Mr. John It is the unanimous feeling of the members of theAssociation that the services given by Mr. Imrie during hismany years of connection with the newspapers of Canada, bothin the present Canadian Daily Newspapers Association and inthe Canadian Press Association, have been of practically in-estimable value to the newspaper fraternity of Canada. Theycan hardly be measured in figures. We feel that the loss ofMr. Imrie is a very serious matter for the Association but werecognize that his first duty is to his own future. It is ourearnest hope that Mr. Imrie will have every success possible inthe new sphere of enterprise to which he has decided to go andwe are confident that the qualities which made him so valuablein the newspaper fraternity in general will have a similar value
