According to Wikipedia: The Jack Russell Terrier is a small terrier that has its origins in fox hunting. It is principally white-bodied and smooth, rough or broken-coated. The Jack Russell is frequently confused with the Parson Russell terrier (see the American Kennel Club) and the Russell terrier, which is a shorter-legged, stockier variety. The "Russell terrier" is also known as "Jack Russell terrier".) The term "Jack Russell" is also commonly misapplied to other small white terriers. The Jack Russell is a broad type, with a size range of 10–15 inches. Jack Russells are an energetic breed that rely on a high level of exercise and stimulation, and are relatively free from serious health complaints. Originating from dogs bred and used by Reverend John Russell in the early 19th century, from whom the breed takes its name, the Jack Russell has similar origins to the modern Fox terrier. Mount Seymour is one of British Columbia's most iconic and popular mountains. This mountain allows for a beautiful hiking trail during the summer that allows a full view of the surrounding cities below. The mountain's peak which reaches over 1400 meters above sea level reveals Vancouver's natural beauty with minimal hindrances blocking the way. In the winter it is a popular destination for athletes that enjoy doing winter sports such as skiing or snowboarding or snowshoeing. This versatility makes this mountain very popular. The hike up the mountain is no small feat but my newborn puppy Mac prevailed and showed to me that he was destined for greatness. During the time of the picture, it was early spring which is why there were still heaps of snow surrounding to uphill trails. The trees here are evergreen trees and as such their leaves do not fall off during the winter. The abundance of these trees is one of the key factors in Vancouver's clean skies and air.
