220425-N-XB010-1002 SASEBO, Japan (April 25, 2022) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Robert Wilmoth, from Columbus, Ohio, deconstructs an amphibious landing craft air cushion (LCAC) recovery winch securing an LCAC to the USS New Orleans (LPD 18) upper vehicle storage area from the well deck. New Orleans, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
