Mogollon boomed to life in the 1890s with the discovery of rich depostis of gold and silver. The town grew to more than 2000 residents by 1909 but virtuallly closed down when the mines played out in the 1920s. A "living ghost town" today, it supports a handful of hardy folks who maintain a museum and a small cafe, Mogollon, NM, USA
