Newly arrived Polish prisoners at Buchenwald concentration camp undressing before they are washed and shaved and given their infamous striped prison uniform. Buchenwald and its 139 sub-camps were forced labour camps not death camps and there were no gas chambers there. However poor conditions, abuse and executions led to 56500 deaths there. It was liberated by the US Army on the 11th April 1945.
